Welcome to the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Natural Park
Close to Paris and Versailles, the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse remains a dominantly rural region on the doorstep of the French capital.
Beautiful landscapes, charming villages, historical heritage and rich natural environments, this green region boasts a diverse range of sites and activities which are waiting for you to discover them during a weekend break or a holiday, with family or friends.
The extremely varied cultural heritage bears witness to the prestigious past of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse region. In addition to the renowned sites, such as the Château of Breteuil, the Château of Dampierre and the Abbey of Port-Royal-des-Champs, there is a multitude of hidden gems. It is a region with more than just a castle, a manor house, a large historical mansion or the remains of a feudal fortification system.
This heritage, just a stone's throw from Paris, might not have survived intact without the creation in 1985 of Ile-de-France's first regional natural park.
